Orthopedic Rehabilitation Unit
The aim of the Orthopedics and Athlete Health unit established within the KAEU School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation; To carry out early or late treatment of all orthopedic diseases requiring or not requiring surgery and to maintain preventive rehabilitation approaches related to the subject. Rehabilitation of various developmental disorders and deformities of the musculoskeletal system, rehabilitation in and after trauma, early and late rehabilitation applications after surgeries, rehabilitation of joint replacement and reconstruction surgeries, rehabilitation after ligament-tendon and nerve surgeries, rehabilitation of congenital and metabolic bone diseases works in the field of rehabilitation of vertebral column pathologies, rehabilitation after conservative or surgical treatment of all injuries and disabilities of the musculoskeletal system. While the orthopedic rehabilitation unit carries out the rehabilitation in all these areas of specialization, it works as a team with all other relevant medical units in an interdisciplinary working approach. After evaluations specific to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation were made for these patients, heat, light and electrotherapy modalities, massage, manipulation and mobilization techniques, different exercise programs, neurophysiological treatment approaches, treatment protocols specific to some orthopedic conditions (total knee endoprosthesis, ACL injuries, femoral-acetabular injury syndrome) etc.), special exercise programs, manual therapy methods, functional activities and home exercise programs are applied to patients with low back and neck problems.
